It's amazing how much many people are involved in the campaign. Everywhere you can see the banners and colors of the two parties and a lot of people carry advertising on their T-shirts and vehicles for "their" candidates.
Today we saw a big convoy with supporters from one party. It looked more like a parade than a campaign event. The typical Belizian speakers in accordance with blaring music could not be missed.
And anyone who believes that all the people form the parade only out of pure interest in politics - I have to sober up at this point.
It is said that every owner of a vehicle gets 50 BZ gas allowance to participate and each person in the vehicle (and it can fit a lot of it) gets 10 BZ.

Es ist unglaublich, wie sehr sich viele Leute für den Wahlkampf engagieren. Überall sieht man die Farben der beiden Parteien und viele Leute haben Werbung auf ihren T-Shirts und den Fahrzeugen für "ihren" Kandidaten.
Heute kam uns ein großer Konvoi mit Parteianhängern entgegen. Es glich eher einer Parade, als einer Wahlkampfveranstaltung. Die für Belize typischen Lautsprecherboxen mit entsprechend dröhnender Musik durfte natürlich auch nicht fehlen.
Und wer glaubt, dass all die Menschen nur aus purem Interesse an der Politik an der Parade teilnehmen, den muss ich an dieser Stelle ernüchtern.
Man sagt, jeder Besitzer eines Fahrzeuges erhält für die Teilnahme 50 BZ Spritgeld und jede Person auf dem Fahrzeug (und es passen viele darauf) bekommt 10 BZ.
