Since our plan was to live at least a little self sufficiency. We built a big greenhouse. We started last year with the foundation and because we had so many other important projects, we couldn't go on until April 2012.
The people from Central Farm (a Taiwanese-Belize Project for growing vegatables and fruits) were a great help. They gave us advice what foil and mesh to use.

All in all it took our two workers 3 weeks to build up the walls and the roof and one week only for fixing the foil and the mesh.

2 weeks ago I startet with some lettuce plants I got from Central Farm.

Ich hoffe auf einen "grünen Daumen"

Da wir geplant haben, uns zumindest ein wenig selbst zu versorgen, haben wir ein großes Gewächshaus gebaut. Bereits im vergangenen Jahr haben wir mit dem Fundament begonnen. Da wir jedoch so viele andere wichtige Projekte hatten, konnten wir bis April diesen Jahres nicht weiter machen.
Die Mitarbeiter von "Central-Farm" (ein Taiwanesisch-Belizianisches Projekt für den Anbau von Obst und Gemüse) waren eine große Hilfe. Sie gaben uns Ratschläge, welche Folie und welches Insektenschutzgewebe wir verwenden sollten.
Alles in allem brauchten unseren beiden Arbeiter 3 Wochen zum Aufbau der Wände und des Daches und eine Woche für die Befestigung der Folie und des Insektenschutzgewebes.
Vor 2 Wochen habe ich es in Betrieb genommen und habe mit Salatpflanzen, die ich bei "Central-Farm" gekauft habe, angefangen.

Every Saturday is a big market in San Ignacio. Today I'll show you some impressions from there.
You must know... this blog entry was not for free for me. Because I was walking with my camera through the market they thougt that I'm a tourist... and so at several market stalls I had to pay the gringo price for the fruits.

Jeden Samstag ist ein großer Markt in San Ignacio. Heute zeige ich einige Eindrücke von dort.

Nur zur Kenntnis... dieser Blogeintrag heute ist nicht kostenlos für mich. Da ich mit meiner Kamera über den Markt gelaufen bin, dachten sie, dass ich ein Tourist bin... und so musste ich an einigen Marktständen den "Gringo-Preis" für das Obst zahlen.
